Amaravati: Minister Achhennaidu presented the agricultural budget in the AP Assembly. He mentioned that Rs. 48,340 crores have been allocated for the agriculture sector. He stated that the state government’s goal is to achieve 15% growth in agriculture and that 11 crops have been selected as growth engines. He also mentioned that the coalition government has distributed 78 lakh quintals of seeds and waived off Rs. 120 crore worth of seed subsidy dues.

Rs. 400 crores for free electricity for SC, ST communities, Rs. 6,300 crores for the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme, Rs. 300 crores for price stabilization fund, Rs. 11,314 crores for irrigation projects, Rs. 6,705 crores for the construction of Polavaram, and Rs. 20,000 per year for tenant farmers were also announced. Expressing a desire to see farmers become self-sufficient, the minister stated that steps are being taken towards achieving the Golden Andhra-2047 goal. He further mentioned that AP would be taken forward on the path of progress in line with the vision of a developed India by 2047. The minister revealed that the state has set a target of transforming into a 2.4 trillion-dollar economy by 2047.

Meanwhile, the central government is already implementing the PM Kisan scheme to provide investment assistance to farmers. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive Rs. 6,000 annually. In addition to the Rs. 6,000 from the central government, the AP government will add another Rs. 14,000, providing a total of Rs. 20,000 annually as investment assistance to farmers. This amount will be paid to farmers in three installments.
